ISIL in Afghanistan is a threat to peace

A UN envoy says an emerging wing of the Islamic State militant group in Afghanistan could threaten peace in the country. Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Tadamichi Yamamoto, who heads the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, spoke to NHK in Uzbekistan & acknowledged that the Afghan government has softened its stance toward Taliban insurgents and is taking steps toward peace.
