WATCH: Ontario has announced that masks will continue to be optional for students when school begins next month.
But Dr. Thomas Piggott, medical officer of health for Peterborough Public Health, says taking safety measures in schools to stop the spread of COVID-19 is still important. Katrina Squazzin has more.

Omar Alghabra, has tested positive for COVID-19, the transport minister said in a Twitter post on Tuesday.

“I will follow all public health measures while self-isolating,” Alghabra wrote. “I am grateful that I have received my vaccines and that my symptoms are mild.”
