The new highly-transmissible COVID-19 variant and government advisory have compelled many Canadians to change their travel plans.
Health Minister Christine Elliott said there were 9,826 new infections, which is the second-highest single-day increase in Ontario since the pandemic began.
The 10,412 diagnoses surpass the previous record of 9,571, which was set Friday.
Public health experts have spent recent weeks urging people to keep their gatherings small and intimate as COVID-19 cases spiked across the country.
